Easy tips to healthy hair, skin and nails

As I’m now in my mid thirties, I’m starting to learn how to take better care of the parts of my body that show aging! Although my health on the inside is far more important than looks on the outside, I am still human so I want to feel AND look my best as I age gracefully.

I thought I’d share a few things I’ve incorporated over the years to help with aging both on the inside and out.

My number one tip is to take a daily collagen supplement! If you missed my blog post all about the benefits of collage, you can check that out here. In short, collagen is something our bodies already utilize but the amount of collagen we have fades over time which can lead to signs of aging such as decrease skin elasticity, and less flexibility in our joints. I add collagen powder to my coffee daily!

My second tip is to eat whole, nutrient dense foods! I likely don’t have to preach this here. If you’re following my blog, you most likely are already living a fairly healthy lifestyle. But this one is too important not to mention! Processed foods and sugar can lead to inflammation in the body and inflammation is linked to numerous diseases. Inflammation also can cause inflammatory responses in our bodies and these symptoms can manifest as hair loss, skin conditions, arthritis, and so much more. All things that we associate and feel with aging that we tend to try and avoid!

Next up, is adding quality supplements. Even if we’re eating whole foods, it’s hard to get all the nutrients your body needs. Various factors, such a soil quality, pesticides used on crops, and factory farming can have an impact on how nutrient dense our food is. I recently added the new Radiant supplement from Vitauthority to my morning lineup specifically to help with hair growth! Radiant's formula contains a unique, clinically proven ingredient called Keranat which helps create an optimal environment for healthy hair growth. By promoting healthy growth factors within the bulb and supporting collagen thickness, it has also been shown to help reduce the rate at which we lose our hair.

Another super important tip for slowing aging is to have a quality skincare routine! I never skimp on this step. A full 4 step regimen makes a world of difference for protecting and replenishing your skin.

And my final tip - SLEEP! Sleep is SO important for overall help and critical for our bodies to repair and heal. Aim to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. This might mean hitting the pillow early if you have kids or fur babies who you know will wake you at early hours. ;)

And remember, aging is totally natural and will happen to all of us. But who says we can’t biohack our way to feeling and looking our best while we age?!

Cheers to clean living my friends.

Live. Live. Clean.
